Blackout Curtains

Oh no the sun. If you are a night owl like me, you probably have a love hate relationship with the sun. Sure it’s great for getting a great tan, making food grow, warming the earth, etc., but it really doesn’t help when you are tired and just want to sleep. Unfortunately the human body is wired to wind down when the sun is down , be alert when the sun is up, so it’s hard to go against nature and get into a deep sleep with the sun beaming into the bedroom. What is the answer for this malady? The answer is blackout curtains.
I have personally tried them and found that they are fantastic. However since many of you may not know what they are, I will start with the following question. What are blackout curtains? Velvet Curtains

Ah, the luxurious feel of velvet.  Velvet curtains or draperies project a feeling of warmth, comfort and regality to a room.  They are rich and soft with a deepness of color that many other fabrics have a hard time competing with.  Functionally wise, the curtains block the light from a room without completely darkening it.   It seems that a fabric with such a great balance of style and function is a product of modern design.  However it is not.  Velvet and the curtains that are made from it, have a long history.
